Dilly DeQuack, a fine figure of a duck, is sitting in her bedroom when she hears a giggle coming from the bathroom then water splashing.\u00a0 She rushes down the hall and arrives just as her son, Plucky, finishes flushing a small stuffed rabbit down the toilet.\u00a0 Naturally the toilet becomes blocked, and even vigorous use of the plunger does not unblock it. \u00a0\u00a0She heads to the kitchen to call the friendly local plumber. \u00a0Soon Nick from Rooster Plumbing is on the way. \u00a0\u00a0As she sits, waiting, sipping her morning green tea, she hears the flap-flaps of her husband\u2019s feet in the hall.\u00a0 She rushes back to see him entering the bathroom with his tool box open, pipe-wrench in hand. \u00a0Now Dilly loves her husband, whom she affectionately calls \u201cPa\u201d, but a handy duck he is not.\u00a0 All his previous attempts at fixing plumbing problems have ended in disaster.\u00a0 \u201cDon\u2019t touch!\u201d she shouts. \u201cYou don\u2019t have Nick\u2019s knack, Pa DeQuack, leave that clog alone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ogden the Owl is sitting on his front porch enjoying his morning coffee, when the son of his neighbor, young Plucky of the DeQuack family, comes tearing down the street on his bike.\u00a0 As Plucky rides, his bike\u2019s gears make various squeals and jangles.\u00a0 \u00a0After a few minutes, Ogden can stand the noise no longer and takes charge of the bike and young Plucky and marches over to his neighbor\u2019s house.\u00a0 He rings the bell and Plucky\u2019s father steps out.\u00a0\u00a0 Ogden fumes, \u2018You need to do something.\u201d Ogden pushes a pedal, producing a series of sharp clanging sounds.\u00a0 \u201cHear the click-clack, Pa DeQuack?\u00a0 Give the cog a hone.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
